With many accomplishments in his multifaceted musical career, film score composer, avid producer and electronic music artist Ilya Truskovsky is best known by his stage name MAQ. After many powerful collaborations and film projects in the past, MAQ is starting out on a new musical journey in 2023. He has now announced the release of his very first independent single for 2023. Titled 'Light Up', the new song introduces a symphonic and entrancing sound that is bound to take listeners on a profound musical journey.
MAQ made an official press statement to discuss the influences and inspirations behind the new single, "The inspiration for this track came from the collaboration with the famous French electronic Grammy-winning project Deep Forest. I was responsible for the symphonic orchestrations on their album Symphonic, which was released in 2020. I've been listening to Deep Forest music since the early 90s and I basically grew up with their music. And this track has become a sort of homage to Deep Forest."
Now more than two decades into his musical career, MAQ started his journey in 2002 when he co-founded the record label known as Deja Vu Records. At that time, he also started creating his own music and instantly began landing powerful collaborations. Having created impactful musical projects under different stage names throughout the years, MAQ is featured on two award-winning albums. Always striving for innovation, MAQ later started lending his musical expertise to cinema scores. Since 2022, he is now back on the electronic music scene as an independent artist, and aims to bring a cinematic and symphonic feel to electronic music.
