SINGAPORE / ACCESSWIRE / October 15, 2021 / Fat Projects Acquisition Corp. (the 'Company') today announced the closing of its initial public offering (the 'Offering') of 10,000,000 units at $10.00 per unit. Each unit consists of one Class A ordinary share and one redeemable warrant entitling the holder thereof to purchase one Class A ordinary share at a price of $11.50 per share. The underwriters exercised their over-allotment option in full for an additional 1,500,000 units at the time of the closing of the Offering. As a result, the aggregate gross proceeds of the Offering, including the over-allotment, are approximately $115 million, prior to deducting underwriting discounts, commissions, and other Offering expenses.
The Company's units began trading on the Nasdaq Global Market on October 13, 2021 under the ticker symbol 'FATPU.' Once the securities comprising the units begin separate trading, the Class A ordinary shares and warrants are expected to be listed on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbols 'FATP' and 'FATPW', respectively.
The Company is a blank check company formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses. While the Company may pursue an initial business combination target in any business or industry, it intends to focus on targets with operations or prospective operations that are technology-led in the areas of supply chain, transportation, logistics, finance, sustainability, ESG, food, agriculture, e-commerce, big data and/or targets that are taking advantage of the monetization opportunities stemming from a rapidly growing middle class and their evolving consumption and digital needs in Southeast Asia.
