New data from the Kansas Department of Labor shows the unemployment rate fell in April to 3.7 percent, down from 3.8 percent in March and 4.1 percent year over year.
The unemployment rate also declined in the Wichita area, down month-over-month from 4.1 percent to 4 percent.
KDOL says in a news release that April marks the fifth-consecutive month of decline ' a silver lining in an otherwise slow market.
